Six parish nurses within faith communities of different denominations are affiliated with Peace River Regional in a collaborative relationship to assist individuals with teaching, counseling, support and advocacy for health related issues.
Parish nurses are Registered Nurses with extra training to assist in the holistic perspective of health. They do no hands on care; rather they are available to direct members to appropriate care and visit individuals in their place of residence or health care institutions. Many of their services include health screenings and support groups to assist with healthy lifestyle choices.
