Volunteers

Peace River Regional Volunteer Auxiliary

Volunteers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but share a common desire to help others and their community.  Volunteers are retirees, former hospital patients, husband and wife teams, homemakers, teenagers, those who are busy and those who are not so busy - people just like you!

Volunteers at Peace River Regional Medical Center are a vital part of our patient care team and provide priceless contributions to the well-being of patients, families and staff.  In serving others, our volunteers become more familiar with the medical field, and enjoy meeting new friends who share the commitment to helping others. Without this very important group, Peace River Regional would not be the organization it is today.

How Can You Serve?

Whether you want to have direct contact with patients or work behind the scenes, there are many opportunities for you.  Some of the areas in which volunteers serve are:
• Departmental Services
• Nursing Units
• Information Services
• Gift Shop
• Tram Services
• Offsite Locations: Murdock Medical Park & North Port HealthPark

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone 18 years of age or older, male or female, seasonal or full-time resident, can join the Auxiliary.  Volunteers are essential and we are very grateful to anyone willing to lend a hand.  In addition, our Teen Volunteer Program allows high school students, 14 years of age and older, the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and fulfill educational community service requirements.
