Primary Stroke Center Services

Certified & Ready

Peace River Regional Medical Center received its Primary Stroke Center Certification from Florida’s Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).  The Peace River Regional Medical Center’s Neuro-Vascular Intervention Center is prepared to accept all Neuro related emergency patients, such as TIA, Stroke, and other neurological conditions. Our Neuro-dedicated unit is championed by Board Certified Neurologists, and we look forward to providing our community with this new service. 

In addition to the certification, Peace River Regional Medical Center is also proud to announce its certificate of participation in the American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines Program to improve stroke care from the American Stroke Association.  The Stroke Team, led by MSO Director Colleen Moore, RN, and MSO Clinical Leader Kelly Emdin, RN, share the goal of the program which is to:

Improve the overall quality of care for stroke patients by improving acute stroke treatment and preventing future strokes and cardiovascular events.
